Virginia Bus Crash Kills 5, Injures 34 on Interstate 95
A passenger bus plowed into six vehicles on Interstate 95 in Stafford County, Virginia, early Friday morning, killing five people and sending 34 others to hospitals, according to Virginia State Police. Emergency Response
Mary Washington Healthcare received 19 patients from the crash scene. Seven were taken to the trauma center at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, where five have been treated and discharged and two remain in critical condition. Twelve patients were taken to Stafford Hospital, all of whom have since been discharged in overall good condition, according to the health system.
“All patients will continue to be cared for at both hospitals with meals and personal needs until they can be reunited with their belongings or other transportation can be arranged,” Mary Washington Healthcare said in a statement.

The Virginia State Police are leading the investigation, and charges are pending. Authorities have not yet released the identities of the five deceased victims, the bus driver, or the company operating the bus.
