The commentary describes these qualities as “the concentrated embodiment of the Party’s advanced nature and purity” and “the key to understanding why the century-old Party remains vigorous and enduring.” It calls on Party members to study and apply Xi’s insights to ensure the Party “never deteriorates, never changes color, and never loses its flavor.”

Xi further grounded the Party’s success in ideological terms, stating: “Why the CPC can succeed, why socialism with Chinese characteristics is good — ultimately it is because Marxism works, because Marxism that has been adapted to the Chinese context and the needs of the times works.”

Party Membership Milestone

The anniversary comes as the CPC released updated membership statistics on June 30, 2026, showing the Party now has over 101.28 million members — a net increase of 1.015 million from the previous year. This makes the CPC the world’s largest political party by membership, representing approximately 7.2 percent of China’s population.
