Saquon Barkley Home Invasion Probed in Pennsylvania
A home invasion occurred early Saturday morning at the Pennsylvania residence of Philadelphia Eagles star running back Saquon Barkley, according to the Chester County District Attorney’s Office. Barkley and his family were inside the home at the time, but no injuries were reported, and authorities believe nothing was stolen.
The incident took place around 5:00 a.m. in the Malvern section of Tredyffrin Township, Chester County. At least one suspect entered the home, police told NBC Philadelphia, but when officers arrived at the scene, the suspects had already fled. Authorities believe more than one vehicle was involved and are investigating a white SUV that may be connected to the incident.
No Injuries, Nothing Stolen
Tredyffrin Township Police Capt. Tyler Moyer confirmed that all occupants were physically unharmed, though “a little unsettled” by the intrusion. Investigators believe nothing was taken from the home.
“We are incredibly grateful that the Barkley family was not injured during this incident,” Chester County District Attorney Christopher de Barrena-Sarobe said in a statement. “We are asking the public to help us identify those responsible by checking any home security cameras for suspicious activity in the area around 5:00 a.m.”
Investigation and Possible Connections
The Tredyffrin Township Police Department is working with federal and other law enforcement agencies to determine whether the burglary could be connected to other break-ins targeting professional athletes across the country. Capt. Moyer said authorities are examining all angles, noting that burglaries of professional athletes’ homes have been “all over the news in the past few years.”
This incident is the latest in a troubling pattern of burglaries targeting high-profile athletes. In February 2025, three men alleged to be part of a South American theft group were indicted in connection with the break-in at Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow’s home, as NBC News reported. The homes of Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce were also burglarized in 2024, with seven Chilean nationals charged in connection with those crimes.
Last summer, a Seattle man was charged in connection with burglaries at the homes of four current and former NFL and MLB players, including Seattle Mariners pitcher Luis Castillo and former Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman.
Broader Trend of Organized Burglaries
The FBI has issued warnings to professional sports leagues about organized South American Theft Groups (SATGs) targeting athletes’ homes. According to NBC News reporting, these groups employ sophisticated methods including drones for surveillance, signal-jamming devices, and monitoring social media and game schedules to determine when players are away from home.
“We know there’s more than one, but we’re still trying to determine how many were involved,” Capt. Moyer said, referring to the number of suspects in the Barkley case.
